  3. Welcome to the "ABC Mid-Season 1995" issue of the ABC Photography CD-ROM.

  5. We are please to present our sixth CD-ROM disc which is now Macintosh¬ and Windows¬ compatible.  We have appreciated your comments and suggestions.

  7. The "ABC PhotoGrid" software gives a faster preview grid.  It will also allows you to print a proof of a single image with caption or groups of five smaller images with caption on one page.

  9. ABC Photography now delivers its images to interested publications via:

  11. Ñ The Associated Press╒ PhotoExpress¬ service, a subsidiary of PhotoStream¬, the AP╒s main picture distribution system.

  13. Ñ PressLink¬, the independent, on-demand, image, graphics and text communications network.

  15. Ñ Point-to-point image transmission for last-minute emergency requests.  Our DIT-to-DIT number is (212) 456-3099.  Please call for a set-up.

  38. About the "ABC Midseason 1995" CD-ROM Disc

  40. Ñ To Set up "PhotoGrid" for Windows¬, double-click INSTALL:EXE from the Windows Manager application.

  42. Ñ The top level window of the "ABC Midseason 1995" CD-ROM Disc displays ABC PhotoGrid applications and a folder that contains high resolution images.
  43.  
  44. Ñ The  ABC PhotoGrid applications will display only the images of their respective categories.

  46. All of the images on the ╥ABC Midseason 1995╙ disc may be found in the ╥PHOTOS╙ folder separated by ╘subject matter╒ folders as each ABC PhotoGrid.  Many of these folders have been grouped together into categories as follows:

  72. Ñ A proof or proof sheet of images can be printed with their attached captions by highlighting the previews and using the print commands.  They can be proofed individually or in groups of five to a page.

  74. Ñ The ╥ABC PhotoGrid╙ application displays a preview grid that can be sized to satisfy your individual requirements.

  76. Ñ The ╥ABC PhotoGrid Instructions╙ file explains the search ╥command-F╙ functions and other tricks and traits of the ABC PhotoGrid.

  79. The ╥ABC PhotoGrid╙ application requires the ╥QuickTime¬ 1.6.1 or later╙ extension to be properly placed in the Extensions folder in your active System folder.

Ñ The ╥ABC HiRes Images╙ folder contains the high resolution image files.  They are JPEG compressed and ╥Fetch-Aware╙, with NAA/IPTC captions attached.  Each uncompressed file is about 10 MB. They can be opened in Adobe PhotoShop¬ with a ╥command--Double-click╙ on the preview, or by using standard open or acquire commands.
